Varun gets ‘threat calls’

A non-cognizable report has been lodged against two persons for threatening Varun Gandhi,BJP MP from Pilibhit.

Pilibhit SP Prem Kumar Gautam said the report had been registered under IPC Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) on a complaint of Bankey Lal,in-charge of the district BJP office,at Amaria police station last night.

The complainant alleged that Gandhi received a call on his cellphone from a mobile number on January 31. Two different persons identifying themselves as Chandrapal and Dhirendra Singh threatened him with dire consequences and disconnected the line,the SP said.

“We have been collecting the call report and have asked for the details of the subscriber of the particular number,” Gautam added.
