UPTU students to have free access to Microsoft software

Over two lakh students of the UP Technical University will soon be able to access latest software design tools developed by Microsoft-world’s leading software company-free of cost.

Over two lakh students of the UP Technical University (UPTU) will soon be able to access latest software design tools developed by Microsoft — world’s leading software company — free of cost.

The university has recently signed an MoU with the software firm due to which the students will now be able to avail the facility under Microsoft’s DreamSpark programme. The UPTU has directed its 435 affiliated engineering and management colleges to nominate one faculty member and one student to facilitate the programme in their colleges.

Dr D S Yadav,Assistant Professor of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) UPTU,said it will be the first time when Microsoft will train engineering students about its software on mass level. Colleges have to send the name of their representatives by May 10 and after that University will start assigning accounts and issue licence to students and teachers of all affiliated colleges.
