Two die while cleaning sewer

Two workers died in Allahabad on Monday while cleaning a choked drain at Preetam Nagar under Dhoomanganj area. Suffocation caused by some poisonous gas is said to be the cause of their death.

Two workers died in Allahabad on Monday while cleaning a choked drain at Preetam Nagar under Dhoomanganj area. Suffocation caused by some poisonous gas is said to be the cause of their death. The deceased,Mahendra and Dinesh Yadav,went inside the sewer pipe without an oxygen mask,it is learnt. Moments later they fainted and before other workers present at the site could help,the two had died. The Dhoomanganj police have lodged an FIR against Laxmi Chand,the contractor,even as officials of the Allahabad district administration and the Nagar Nigam reached the spot.
