For the BJPs election management ahead of Assembly polls next year, the top brass has deployed party leaders from other states in each of the six regions. The special invitees will complete the first round of meetings to discuss election management in their respective regions in September.
The decision to appoint these party leaders for election management was taken in a meeting of the partys election management cell in New Delhi last week. Along with state senior leaders,in-charge and presidents of these regions attended the meeting.
According to sources, state general secretary in Bihar Mangal Pandey and vice-president Lal Babu Yadav have been given charge of West (Paschim) and Gorakhpur regions, respectively.
Rameshwar Sharma and Arvind Bhadauriya of Madhya Pradesh have been assigned responsibilities of Avadh and Kanpur, respectively. Rameshwar is the chairman of the state mining development corporation while Bhadauriya is MLA from Ater constituency in MP.
Arun Singh and Sidharth Nath Singh, both of Delhi, have been given charge of Braj and Kashi regions respectively. Sidharth, grandson of former Prime Minister late Lal Bahadur Shastri,is former national spokesperson of BJP. Arun Singh is a chartered accountant and relative of former party chief Rajnath Singh. Currently he is national convener of the BJPs investors cell.
Arun and Sidharth both belong to UP but they had never been directly associated with party activities in the state. They have been in the partys national teams for a long time, said a BJP leader.
According to party sources, the job of these leaders would be to identify loopholes in election preparations of the party and of candidates. They will ensure enrollment of those who will vote in favour of BJP. They will keep a watch on utilisation of funds provided by the party for campaigns and ensure proper distribution of campaign material among party workers and voters. They will also look after deployment of party workers at the booth level.
As these leaders do not have any political connection with UP,they will remain unbiased and will work without taking pressure from any party or candidate, said another leader.
