Three held for boy’s abduction,murder

With the arrest of three persons on Friday,the Lucknow police claimed to have solved the murder of 16-year-old.

With the arrest of three persons on Friday,the Lucknow police claimed to have solved the murder of 16-year-old,whose body was found in Sitapur on Friday evening.

Rajat Sahu was a student of Gyan Kunj School in Indra Nagar. He was missing since March 8.

The arrested persons have been identified as Rajat’s cousin Chandan,and his two friends Yakoob and Rishi. Circle Officer,Gomti Nagar,K Gyananjay Singh,said the youths have confessed to the crime. Chandan told the police that he planned the kidnapping for money.

On March 8,they kidnapped the boy while he was on his way home from school. On way to Sitapur,they called his parents to inform them about the kidnapping and let Rajat talk to his mother. “But learning that the police have been informed,they killed the boy inside the car and threw his body on roadside,” said Station Officer,Ghazipur,Sanjay Rai. They had traced the youths through an informer and by studying their call details,he added.


Court to hear Joshi’s plea of CBI probe on May 17

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has fixed May 17 as the next date of hearing on a petition by Congress state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi seeking a CBI probe into the attack at her residence in 2009 allegedly by BSP men.

Justices Abdul Matin and Ashwani Kumar Singh fixed the date on Thursday after hearing both the sides. Stating that there was no need for a CBI probe into the incident,Advocate General Jyotindra Mishra said that two accused have already been arrested by the CB-CID and a probe was on in the matter. Joshi’s house was set afire by an angry mob of BSP workers on July 15,2009,after she made comments against Mayawati at a public meeting.

BSP MLAs Jitendra Singh Babloo and Intezaar Abidi Bobby,who hold the post of chairmen of a state corporation body and enjoy ministerial status,were arrested recently by the CB-CID in this connection.
