Six new judges take oath

Six news judges of Allahabad High Court took oath in Allahabad on Friday.

Six news judges of Allahabad High Court took oath in Allahabad on Friday. With this the total strength of the judges in the High Court,including the Lucknow bench,has gone up to 92.

Allahabad High Court Chief Justice Shiva Kirti Singh administered the oath to the six new judges — Rakesh Srivastava,Surya Prakash Kesarwani,Vipin Sinha,Karuna Nand Bajpai,Manoj Kumar Gupta and Anjani Kumar Mishra — in a simple ceremony in his chamber. As per norms,the new judges will remain posted as Additional Judges for two years before being elevated as permanent judges of the HC.

Senior court officials said all the new judges were from the bar. While five of them were practising in the Allahabad High Court,Srivastava was practising in its Lucknow bench.
