Congress candidate from Lucknow Rita Bahuguna Joshi on Wednesday filed a complaint with the Election Commission demanding immediate action against Lucknow district magistrate and Mahanagar circle officer for helping BSP candidate Akhilesh Das. Joshi alleged the BSP candidate is distributing clothes and utensils to the voters under the police patronage and the local administration is helping Das in booth management too. “Voters in the minorities-dominated areas are being threatened to vote for the BSP candidate,who has been distributing clothes and utensils in slum clusters and Dalit areas under the police patronage,” Joshi wrote in her complaint. She said the police were asking party workers to remove the Congress flag,while BSP flags had been put on government buildings and public places.
