The stalemate between students and authorities at the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) ended on Monday evening.
This comes after the five-member committee, constituted to probe the alleged beating of students, barred the chief warden, warden and president of the student activity centre from discharging any administrative duties.
Following the committee decision, the students called off their agitation.
The committee headed by Professor Rakesh Mathur also initiated the inquiry into the alleged beating of students by chief warden Vinod Yadav and warden A K Singh.
Besides probing reports of students drinking on campus, the committee will also work out remedial measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, said officiating director Professor B D Chaudhery.
Hundreds of students had staged a massive demonstration on Sunday in protest against the alleged beating up of some students and passing of indecent remarks on girl students.
