Mata Prasad is Speaker

Samajwadi Party MLA Mata Prasad Pandey began his second stint as Speaker after he was elected unopposed as Speaker for the 16th Assembly on Friday.

Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Mata Prasad Pandey began his second stint as Speaker after he was elected unopposed as Speaker for the 16th Assembly on Friday.

His was the only nomination for the post and thus he was declared elected.

Soon after his election,Chief Minister and Leader of the House Akhilesh Yadav,Leader of Opposition and BSP leader Swami Prasad Maurya,Congress Legislature Party leader Pramod Tiwari,BJP Legislature Party leader Hukum Singh,RLD Legislature Party leader Puran Prakash congratulated him.

The leaders also assured him all help in smooth conduct of the House.
