The Uttar Pradesh government has declared ‘Palash’ or the ‘Flame of Forest’ as the state flower,revealed an official communique issued by the Principal Secretary.

The Uttar Pradesh government has declared ‘Palash’ or the ‘Flame of Forest’ as the state flower,revealed an official communique issued by the Principal Secretary (Forests and Wildlife),Chanchal Kumar Tiwari. The State Biodiversity Board had recommended that the ‘Flame of Forest’ should be declared as the state flower which has been approved by Governor BL Joshi.

New chief of RDSO joins office

V Ramachandran joined as new director general of Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) of Indian Railways on Friday. He took over the charge from

K B L Mittal,who is now the general manager,North Eastern Railways. Before this,Ramachandran served in Central Vigilance Commission as head of the Chief Technical Examiner’s Wing,said press release from the RDSO.
