Crackers explode in bus,15 injured

A bagful of crackers exploded in a private bus,leaving 15 passengers injured in the Purwa area of Unnao district on Thursday evening.

A bagful of crackers exploded in a private bus,leaving 15 passengers injured in the Purwa area of Unnao district on Thursday evening. Unnao ASP Rakesh Pushkar said the incident took place when the bag,which was kept on the overhead shelf by a passenger,fell down. The injured were rushed to the local primary health centre where they were provided the medical aid. A case has been registered against unidentified person carrying the crackers.

Khurshid attracts crowd in Old City
Union Minister for Corporate affairs and Minority Affairs,Salman Khurshid,announced the setting up of three new universities with 50 per cent reservation for minorities. These will be named after Kwaja Garib Nawaz in Ajmer,Rafi Ahmad Kidwai in Kishanganj,Bihar and Tipu Sultan in Mysore. He was addressing a public rally organised in the Muslim-dominated area of Lucknow West constituency in favour of party candidate Shyam Kishore Shukla. He added that the Centre has decided to give tax concession to those factories and companies,who employ members from the economically backward communities. It has also set aside a large fund for the uplift of the minorities,he told the gathering. “In the first phase,we have selected around 90 districts across the country and UP have got a large share. Districts like Lucknow has also been included,” he added.
