A phone call from her mother saved her from becoming another name in the list of victims of the Mumbai 7/11 bomb blast.
“I was on the verge of boarding the ill-fated train at the Borivili station when my mother called and I missed the ride,” says television actress Amrapali,an undergraduate who aspires to be a criminal lawyer.
“The event made me want to be in a position from where I could do my bit to bring the perpetrators of terror to book,” says the student of Humanities,who has graduated from bit roles in serials to the main role in Palko ki Chhaon Mein that premiers on NDTVimagine from next week.
“I divide my time between acting assignments and studies and haven’t given up my aspiration to study Law. But time will tell what I will end up doing,” says Mumbai native Amrapali,who shares that she submits herself entirely to the director and creative team to help her emote. “In the serial I play a girl who has no one to call her own but the folks who adopt her to marry one of the boys in the family. Besides being the main role,I am glad it is a part that demands displaying a range of emotions.”
