BCCI pitch committee member (central zone) Kishore Pradhan was in the state capital on Thursday to inspect the stadia here. Accompanied with secretary Cricket Association Lucknow (CAL) KM Khan,he inspected the KD Singh ‘Babu’ and the Dr Akhilesh Das stadia in Lucknow.

Lucknow is scheduled to play host to a UP vs Delhi Ranji Trophy match from November 22 to 25. Incharge sports and administration (UPCA) Prem Dhar Pathak informed that Pradhan will be sending his report to the BCCI in about a week. On Friday,he will visit Agra stadia to see whether the conditions there are good enough for holding the Under-22 CK Nayudu matches.

Sources informed that at Lucknow,he found playing conditions to be better at Das Stadium as compared to the ‘Babu’ Stadium where thick grass was growing in the outfield.

Talking to The Indian Express,Ajai Arora,Deputy Director Sports of Babu Banarsi Das Group of Educational Institutions said,“The BCCI official appeared more than satisfied with the ground and other facilities here. He gave minor suggestions regarding the weight of the roller which should be used on the pitch and that there should be some more grass at the pitch.”

Sports department official Ram Prakash Singh when contacted said,“ When the BCCI official pointed out that there was too much of grass in the outfield we told him that as it was the rainy season so the grass had grown high and it would be cut much before the Ranji match.”
