New show on SAB to highlight animal traits in humans
From the alacrity of a horse to the gait of a pea-hen and from the roaring authority of a lion to cunning of a cat,Chidiyaghar, the prime time comedy that goes on air on Sab TV from November 28,works on the premise of the wild side of human beings. It comes from Ashwini Dheers stable, the production house that gave Lapataganj and Office Office.
I have been off television for some time, but when I heard the partof an aunt who tiptoes like a catI decided to do it, says Bharti Achrekar,a veteran best known for playing the female lead in Wagle ki Duniya. In Lucknow on Wednesday along with crew members,Achrekar, last scene in Rascals, said she has done a scene in Desi Boys and has signed for David Dhawans next, which is a remake of Chashme Buddoor. There is talk of her being signed to play a role akin the UP chief minister but she was not too forthcoming on that. I have been involved in Marathi theatre and prefer to take it easy when it comes to roles, said the actress, who is also trained in classical music. You never get to play all that you can. I am typecast as a comic, but the best appreciation I have earned is for serious roles on stage with the likes of Nana Patkar,Dr Shreeram Lagoo and Vijaya Mehta and in telefilms like Hamida Bai Ka Kothaa, she said.
Two of her co-actors,Paresh Ganetkar and Shilpa Shinde, who accompanied her to Lucknow, said they found the serial worthier compared to some film roles that came their way.
