Vicky Kaushal says ‘wasn’t prepared for the feeling’ of being a dad, he and Katrina Kaif crave for time with son

Actors Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif welcomed their first son in November this year. The couple has been basking in the joy of being new parents, and Vicky Kaushal recently opened up about becoming a father. He shared how the ‘centre of his life’ has changed, and that witnessing these feelings wasn’t something the actor was prepared for. Recently, at an event in Mumbai, Vicky also elaborated on whether becoming a father will also change his approach towards life.

Talking about taking on this new role in life, Vicky Kaushal spoke at a college festival and said, “It’s just been a month, I am also figuring out what it means to become a father, but I can tell you it’s the most magical feeling. It’s a feeling sometimes I feel I cannot describe in words, of course, there are those beautiful adjectives that you could attach to becoming a father, but what you truly feel is a mix of so many things. Sometimes, you obviously go through that feeling that you have to lead by example; there are moments of introspection where you have to watch what you are doing. Sometimes you are like, dekhi jaaegi yaar sudharne ki zaroorat nahi hai. But overall, you just feel like time has become so priceless, your centre changes. I feel like my centre has changed; there is always something calling me back.”

He further added, “For the first time, I am very scared that I shouldn’t lose my phone. I have never bothered about my phone, but now I have so many pictures and videos of my baby that I am always looking for my phone. We are just craving for that time with your child, it’s very precious and truly has been one of the biggest lessons of my life. God has been kind.”

Earlier in an interview with GQ, Vicky had spoken about being a father and called it a “grounding experience.” He said, “It’s too soon for me to analyse. Every day, a new emotion hits. You surrender to this in a way you’ve never surrendered to anything. It’s a feeling I can’t put into words, and wasn’t prepared for.”
