Train services in northern and eastern states suffered major disruption for the second consecutive day on Tuesday in the wake of power failure,giving a harrowing time to passengers. The traffic was partially restored by the evening. Alternative power supply was arranged to run the stranded trains, said S K Saxena,Executive Director (Energy),Railway Board. He said barring the section between Mughalsarai and Gaya,train services on the busy Delhi-Howrah route had largely been restored. The worst affected zones were Northern Railway,North Central Railway,East Central Railway,and parts of Eastern Railway.
