Train services in northern and eastern states suffered major disruption for the second consecutive day

Train services in northern and eastern states suffered major disruption for the second consecutive day on Tuesday in the wake of power failure,giving a harrowing time to passengers. The traffic was partially restored by the evening. “Alternative power supply was arranged to run the stranded trains,” said S K Saxena,Executive Director (Energy),Railway Board. He said barring the section between Mughalsarai and Gaya,train services on the busy Delhi-Howrah route had largely been restored. The worst affected zones were Northern Railway,North Central Railway,East Central Railway,and parts of Eastern Railway.
