PM is a post-poll story: Yechury

CPM politburo member Sitaram Yechury today said there were many in the Third Front who have prime ministerial capability. Yechury was speaking at an election rally here in support of RSP candidate from Berhampore Promotesh Mukherjee.

“We do not have only one prime ministerial candidate. We have several of them having the capability of becoming the Prime Minister,” said the Rajya Sabha member,adding that naming the PM before the elections was like insulting the people.

“You don’t know whether your prime ministerial candidate will win or lose the elections. What happens if he or she loses? It happened to Indira Gandhi who lost from Rae Bareli. So,we are not losing our sleep over the next prime minister. It will be decided only after the elections,” Yechury said.
