Man found dead in Tiljala

The body of a 52-year-old man was found inside the basement of an under-construction building in Tiljala on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Gobinda Pyne,a resident of Milan Nagar in Salt Lake. According to the police,Pyne was the caretaker of the under-construction building and had gone missing on Wednesday.

We have found several injury marks on the body, said a police officer. We are yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder. According to our information,Gobinda had a rivalry with some local goons which may have led to his murder, said the officer.

Later,locals staged a protest near Tiljala police station demanding immediate arrest of the miscreants. We have started an investigation. The body has been sent for an autopsy, said L N Meena,SP,South 24-Parganas.

Engineer found dead
The body of a 26-year-old engineer was found at his residence at Sodepur in North 24-Parganas today. According to the police,Abhishek Chakraborty was found dead in his bedroom. No injury mark was found. Abhishek used to work in a steel manufacturing company in New Delhi. At present he was on leave.

After interrogating his family members,we came to know that some of his friends had come to meet him and stayed till late night. After they left,he closed the door of his room and went to sleep. Today when he did not open the door even after knocking several times,his family members informed us, said an officer.

The police broke open the door and found Abhishek lying in the room.
