Trinamool draws flak for absence in Assembly
State Urban Development Minister Ashok Bhattacharya on Thursday deridedthe Trinamool Congress for the continuous absence of its legislators in the Assembly, and said it would not come to power in the next elections despite its good show in the municipal polls. Replying to the debate on his departments budget in the House,he said the Trinamools absence indicated its escapist mindset as it willingly missed the chance to ask questions, make suggestions or reprimand the minister during the debate. Saying that the party did well in the last municipal polls riding on a pro-Trinamool wave,he pointed out the elections cannot be won on such waves all the time. Bhattacharya said that a year on,the Trinamool would remain in the Opposition while the Left Front would continue to sit in the treasury benches.
