A Maoist cadre surrendered before the police in Purulia on Sunday. Rabi Mandi,a Maoist cadre of the organisation’s Ayodhya squad,surrendered after being attracted by chief minister’s package of rehabilitation,” said Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Choudhury in a press conference.

A resident of Bhagnidi village in Balarampur block near Ayodhya hills,Mandi joined the banned CPI(Maoist) in 2005 for poverty,police said.

With the surrender of Mandi,five Maoist cadres from the district surrendered before the police and chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

Earlier,Durjyodhan Rajwar and Lalita Sahis of Balarampur surrendered before Choudhury and Jagari Baske and Rajaram Baske surrendered before Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the state secretariat of Writers’ Buildings.
