Tiger kills 2-year-old boy in Haridwar

Haridwar, Feb 26 (ANI): Panic gripped Haridwar’s Motichoor area when a tiger took away a two-year-old child and killed him. Angry residents blocked the National Highway-72 for two hours and warned the forest department that such incidents should never happen again in the future. Superintendent of Police Shweta Choubey on Friday said the villagers have demanded for electric fencing throughout the forest. She further said that the villagers have also asked for compensation and the government is looking into the matter.

Ghaziabad Police launch search operation for 'abducted' woman

Ghaziabad, Feb 11 (ANI): Ghaziabad Police on Thursday confirmed that they have launched a search operation for a 23-year-old woman, who her family claims was allegedly abducted by an auto driver on Wednesday night. Superintendent of Police Salman Taj Patil on Thursday said that Dipti Sarna, who works in an office in Gurgaon, Haryana, may have been abducted by the auto driver from the main bus stand at Ghaziabad. He said that Dipti's family has filed a case with the police station at Sihani Gate in which they have said that she was speaking to a friend on her mobile phone and suddenly started shouting as the auto driver took a wrong route. He also that Dipti's family had informed the police that they usually came to the bus stand to pick Dipti up and then go to their home in Vaishali. Shamli (UP), Feb 08 (ANI): Shamli Superintendent of Police Vijay Bhushan on Monday said that three persons have been detained in connection with the death of an eight-year-old boy in a celebratory firing in Shamli. Bhushan said a child aged around eight was hit by a bullet in a celebratory firing. An eight-year-old boy was killed allegedly in a celebratory firing after local elections results were announced in Shamli on Sunday. The Samajwadi Party workers were celebrating the win of candidate Nafisa in the elections when the bullet fired during a rally hit the victim.

NIA team reaches Salvinder’s residence in Amritsar

Salwinder Singh reached NIA office with his cook Madan Gopal and caretaker of the shrine Somraj on Tuesday morning. A Special Delhi court had yesterday granted permission to NIA to conduct the test.

Seven killed in bus-jeep collision in Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer (Rajasthan), Jan 08 (ANI): Seven people were killed and 12 others injured in a collision between a bus and a jeep in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on Friday.
