The upcoming greenfield radial road at the proposed RRR will be named after the late industrialist Ratan Tata, whereas a high-profile road along the United States Consulate General in Hyderabad will be named ‘Donald Trump Avenue’, the government said in its release.
The state government will inform the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the US Embassy about these plans.
Earlier this year, while addressing the annual US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) conclave in Delhi, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had proposed to name key roads in Hyderabad after leading global corporations.
A prominent stretch in the city will be named ‘Google Street’ to recognise the tech giant’s global impact.
The road alongside Google’s upcoming campus in Hyderabad’s Financial District, which is set to be the company’s largest outside the United States, will receive the recognition, said the government release.
Microsoft and Wipro are also expected to receive recognition in the city’s topography. Wipro Junction, to honour the tech mogul’s contribution to the city and Microsoft Road, which is a part of the state’s initiative to position itself as a hub for innovation-driven development.
