Whistle stop : Launch Pad

While shooting an ad for a shoe brand in Bangkok,Prabhudheva and Virat Kohli seemed to hit it off. The choreographer-turned-director,first convinced and then taught the cricketer a few dance moves. He is said to have followed that up with the idea of launching the cricketer as an actor. Though Kohli has not committed to it,he is not averse to the idea either, given the swooning effect his rugged charm has on women. After all, having boosted the careers of Salman Khan (Wanted) and Akshay Kumar (Rowdy Rathore),Prabhudheva is among the top filmmakers of Bollywood today. And a film with him could be a dream launch for Kohli.

Jaded

Last year, the makers of The Dirty Picture heaved a sigh of relief when Heroine’s release was postponed following Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan’s pregnancy. The team — Balaji Motion Pictures and director Milan Luthria — had feared that if the Madhur Bhandarkar film releases before The Dirty Picture, the novelty of their film will be lost. Their fears were well-founded. This is established by the promo of Heroine, launched in Mumbai on Wednesday. While Kareena Kapoor, who has replaced Rai-Bachchan in the movie, looked ravishing in a red jump suit, the two-minute trailer seemed jaded — a mix of The Dirty Picture and Bhandarkar’s very own Fashion. It remains to be seen if Kapoor will make the film worth a watch with her performance.
