You can’t fit all your belongings in these trunks and take them globetrotting but Delhi-based Sheena Jain’s collection of vintage trunks are head-turners even though they aren’t strong enough to serve as luggage. Made from wood and with different print covers for decoration,they make for storage spaces in bedrooms,show pieces in living rooms and bookcases in libraries. The trunks,sourced by Jain on her travels around the world,come in different sizes and designs. “Girls would prefer the cases with floral prints and photos of the English countryside,whereas boys would like the one with the map of the world,” says Jain whose store,Sheena Creations,mostly curates items for children and home accessories. Priced Rs 2,999 onwards,the trunks aren’t actually artefacts,just new designs that have been made to look like novelties from the yesteryears. They are good to decorate homes that already have a touch of the old and heritage,in addition to modern rooms that could do with a touch of vintage. The trunks are available on retail and can be ordered from across the country.
