Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha Wednesday invited suggestions from his personnel on ‘innovations, technological advancements, and procedural changes’ within the force.

A dedicated email ID, cpsecretariatinnovation@gmail.com, has been generated for receiving ideas/suggestions from all ranks and files. The message from Golcha’s office reads, “it is desired that a concept note may be attached with the submission, covering the current situation; problems and challenges identified; proposed solutions and expected benefits and quality improvements.”

Delhi Police staff of all ranks are encouraged to actively contribute their suggestions in the interest of improving efficiency and service delivery of Delhi Police,” it adds.

The suggestions can be submitted by September 20, as per the message.

Golcha, who was appointed the police chief on August 21 in the wake of an attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, held a meeting at the police headquarters on Tuesday with station house officers (SHOs). Special commissioners, joint commissioners, and district deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) attended the meeting. During the meeting, he briefed the officers for over two hours on key issues.

In the meeting, Golcha advised them to focus on building public trust and also urged the officers to stay away from corruption. He also told the SHOs to focus on strengthening the beat policing in their areas. He also informed them that out-of-turn promotions would be awarded to officers who perform well and bring a good reputation to the force.

With the appointment of Golcha, the Delhi Police have finally received an Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre officer after a long wait of four years. During this period, the force has undergone several changes across its units and divisions. It has also come under scrutiny due to numerous cases of corruption and raids involving its personnel.
