Theres very little about wine that Subhash Arora doesnt know. For the past 30 years,Arora, who is president of the Indian Wine Academy, has been working to create awareness and promote the finest wines in India. Earlier this month, his efforts won him a grand reward from the Italian government a knighthood and the official title of Cavaliere dellOrdine della Stella della solidarietà italiana. Initiated in 1947,the title is given to people who help improve social and cultural ties with Italy. Arora,a frequent visitor to Italy, professes a love for all wines, but adds that the Italian variety always offers a special joy. The indigenous grape varieties of Italian wine contribute to its unique factor. Italian wines have a story to tell and have a rich background, says the 63-year-old who has also written a book on the subject called Italian Wine Guide, published in 2006.
