Officials said the car shed exit is expected to be operational from January 21, subject to final clearance.
The Western Railway (WR) will cancel 102 suburban local train services on Tuesday due to the suspension of exit and entry at Kandivali car shed and speed restrictions on the up and down lines between Kandivali and Malad.
In a press release issued on Monday, WR said the operational curbs will affect train movements on the fast corridor, leading to multiple cancellations across the day. Railway officials indicated that the exit at Kandivali car shed is undergoing works and is yet to be declared fit for operations.
The works are part of the Borivali 6th line project, following the recent commissioning of the additional line between Kandivali and Borivali. Officials said the car shed exit is expected to be operational from January 21, subject to final clearance.
WR stated that the list of affected trains has been provided in Annexure–I of the notification and that detailed information is available with suburban station masters along the Western line. Commuters have been advised to take note of the changes and plan their journeys accordingly.
The cancellations are likely to impact suburban traffic on the Western line, particularly in the Borivali–Andheri–Churchgate belt, and passengers have been urged to factor in possible service disruptions while commuting on Tuesday.
