Ocean On The Wall

Popular indie band,Indian Ocean is on a new high these days. With a five-city tour planned this month and a Best Composer Award from Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong in their kitty,the band’s memorabilia is being put up on the famed walls of the five Hard Rock Cafes across India. What makes this initiative landmark is that Indian Ocean is the first Indian band to have been honoured with this. Known for their rustic tunes and earthy music,the band is contributing kurtas,guitars and a pair of tablas for the wall. “We are obviously very happy. But at the same time,this initiative proves that indie music is now doing very well in India and that mainstream industry has started accepting us,” says Rahul Ram,bassist,Indian Ocean. Until now it was Bob Marley’s robe and Jimi Hendrix’s guitar,among other star memorabilia,that adorned the walls,Indian Ocean is clearly making rock history,even if its on the walls of Hard Rock Cafe.
