When Michelle Obama met Prince Williams bride Catherine, the new Duchess of Cambridge, during Barack Obamas state visit to Britain, onlookers couldnt help sizing up their style quotients. The US First Lady kept her end of the promise and dressed with her usual flair. For the lavish state dinner with the Queen of England and the British Royal family, she wore a gorgeous but understated Tom Ford pearl-coloured gown, complete with long gloves a perfect complement to the Queens sparkling white dress. Incidentally, both the Queen and her daughter-in-law,Camilla Parker Bowles, wore beautiful tiaras. Michelles wardrobe for other occasions was equally well-chosen,with a mix of American and British designers; an electric blue dress by British label Preen on her arrival at Stansted Airport,a floral dress by Californian designer Barbara Tfank, and a purple dress by London-based designer Roksanda Ilincic for a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron.
Catherine, however, stayed away from bright colours and donned a beige dress by her favourite label,Reiss, for her meeting with the Obamas. The dresss simplicity notwithstanding, the demand for it soared so high that the labels website crashed. Looks like the Kate Fever isnt ending anytime soon.
