IGI plunges into darkness

The Indira Gandhi International Airport plunged into complete darkness for nearly 27 minutes on Thursday evening after a construction crane,being used by Umrao Hotel to plant date trees in its premises,damaged Delhi Transco’s 220 KV Bamrauli-DIAL IGI circuit that supplies power to the airport. “A police complaint has been lodged against the Crane Operator. However the incident was beyond the control of Delhi Transco Ltd and the inconvenience caused to the public is regretted,” Delhi Transco said in a statement.
