Games probe: NDMC suspends engineer

Following a Central Vigilance Commission probe into Games-related projects,the NDMC has suspended the engineer-in-chief of Talkatora and Shivaji stadiums. V K Gulati was to retire at the end of this month. “The inquiry is still on and if something is found amiss,one can’t take action against a retired person,therefore Gulati has been suspended. It is a technical requirement and not an indictment,” said NDMC spokesman Anand Tiwari. The suspension reportedly came after the CVC pointed out that inferior material was used in Talkatora Stadium.
