Four arrested for murdering man

Police on Tuesday arrested four persons for murdering a 41-year-old man last week. While three of the accused were nabbed from Nangloi,one was arrested in Kashgunj

Police on Tuesday arrested four persons for murdering a 41-year-old man last week. While three of the accused were nabbed from Nangloi,one was arrested in Kashgunj,Uttar Pradesh. Six mobiles and a countrymade gun was recovered from them.

Police said the accused — identified as Dilip (26),Sultan Singh (45),Bhola (24) and Prakash Kumar Chawla alias Parveen (19) — used to lure passengers into their autorickshaw and later loot them. They said they killed the victim,Kanhaiya Dey,earlier this month when he resisted their attempts to rob him.

¿The accused were waiting at the Nangloi bus stand when Dey came along. They asked him to come with them to Anand Vihar Bus Terminal in their shared autorickshaw. While Dilip drove,the other three sat in the vehicle posing as passengers,¿ said ACP (West) V Renganathan.

Dey,who worked as a peon at the Scientific Management Security Services Private Limited,used to deliver uniforms and mobile phones to newly recruited guards posted outside Delhi.

He was going to Muradabad in Uttar Pradesh to deliver a package of 10 mobiles.

According to Renganathan,the accused tried to rob Dey when they reached near Punjabi Bagh Flyover. When he resisted,they hit him with the butt of the gun and shot him. Later,they threw his body near the Power House Metro station in Punjabi Bagh and fled with the mobile phones the victim was carrying.
