Shobit Modi murder case to be heard on Wednesday

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court will on Wednesday take up the petition submitted by Shobit Modis father for transferring the probe to the CBI. Justice Mukta Gupta will hear the plea filed by Suraj Modi,who has sought a court order for handing over the investigation from the Delhi Police to the CBI,as he has lost all the faith in the police.

Delhi,Andhra school greenest

New Delhi: The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) declared schools in Delhi and Andhra Pradesh as greenest in the country. Andhra Pradeshs Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya,Ongole and Kendriya Vidyalaya,Uppal,and Delhis Kendriya Vidyalaya,Vigyan Vihar and Salwan Public School won the awards among 1,500 schools in 18 states. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit presented the Green School Awards to these schools.

Man found dead in car in parking lot

New Delhi: A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his car in the parking area of his housing colony in Mayur Vihar phase II,police said on Tuesday night. The victim,S S Viju,was found slumped in his car around 7.30 pm. He is survived by a wife and son. Prima facie,police has ruled out foul play but have registered a case and are probing the matter.

Three held for hiring,stealing car

New Delhi: Three alleged robbers were arrested by the Alipur police for stealing a car on Tuesday. The accused hired a cab from Moti Nagar to Aligarh and enroute they pushed the driver out of the car and drove away,police said. Vijay Gupta,the driver with the help of a PCR,nabbed the three from Bakhtavar Pur region.

Police also recovered a pistol and four live cartridges from them. A case has been registered.
