Vendor stabbed to death
New Delhi: A 45-year-old vendor was stabbed to death on Monday by two men,with whom he had a fight the day before. The victim,Shiv,had fought with the duo as they were harassing his sister-in-law,police said. After the attack,Shiv was was rushed to DDU Hospital,where doctors declared him dead on arrival. A case has been registered and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Former CM Khurana moved out of ICU
New Delhi: Former chief minister of Delhi,Madan Lal Khurana,was moved out of the ICU into a regular room at Sir Gangaram Hospital on Monday. Khurana was taken to the hospital after a fall in the bathroom on April 17. He is completely stable. He is off the ventilator and is talking as well, said Dr Satnam Singh Chhabhra,senior consultant in neurosurgery who operated on Khurana.
Mayor calls for report on condition of roads
New Delhi: To improve condition of roads in the city,Mayor Rajni Abbi on Monday sought a detailed report from chief engineer Ravi Dass of permissions granted to various agencies including individuals for road digging during the last four years and restoration work carried out by the MCD. I have noticed that other agencies dig up our roads and then leave it open. Since MCD charges for such digging,I want know how much it has earned and how much other agencies owe us, she said.
