The Delhi High Court sought a response from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on a petition filed by 21-year-old Mehjabi.

Metro mishap: Court seeks DMRC response
The Delhi High Court on Thursday sought a response from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on a petition filed by 21-year-old Mehjabi whose legs had to be amputated after she fell on the Metro track at the Rajiv Chowk station this March. The court has asked DMRC to file its reply by January 11. Mehjabi,who now walks with prosthetic limbs,has sought a compensation of Rs 20 lakh and a government job. She has also sought the court’s direction to ensure safety of the public at Metro stations.

Cop found dead in drain
A 35-year-old Delhi Police Assistant Sub-Inspector was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a drain behind Manglapuri bus stand of Southwest Delhi on Thursday afternoon. There were no injury marks on Kartar Singh Ahlawat’s body,but senior officers said it appeared as if he was under the influence of alcohol and accidentally fell into the drain. Ahlawat is posted at the South District Control Room.
