Operators of Blueline buses in Cluster-I,South Delhi, got a temporary respite as the Delhi High Court held that the government notification for a complete phase-out of these buses could not apply for the area.

Noting that the Delhi government does not have an adequate number of buses to replace Bluelines in Cluster-I,Justice Indermit Kaur said the area can be omitted from the October 27 notification.

There have to be 231 buses in Cluster-I and the DTC,along with a private bidder, has to provide the numbers before the Bluelines are completely phased out.

The Delhi Government had announced December 14 as the deadline for the complete phase-out. As many as 52 Blueline bus owners are set to benefit from the court order.
