For the Republic Day celebrations,airspace over the Capital will remain closed to all flight operations for an hour between 11.15 am and 12.15 pm on January 23,24 and 26 for the fly-past of Indian Air Force aircraft,a Delhi airport official said.

Two Metro stations to be closed Sunday
Delhi Metro services will be partially curtailed on Sunday,with two stations in Lutyens’ Zone being closed for over six hours in view of the full dress rehearsals for f the Republic Day. Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations,which are close to Rajpath,will be closed from 6 am to 12.30 pm on Sunday. Passengers will,however,be able to avail interchange facility at the Central Secretariat station.

‘Will rehabilitate mentally ill woman’
The Delhi High Court provided succour to a 44-year-old mentally ill woman,who has been wandering on the streets of Shakti Nagar for the last three years. Justice S Muralidhar disposed of a PIL on Friday after the government assured the court that it was taking action to rehabilitate her. “Personnel of the Social Welfare department will take the woman for a mental check-up,” submitted the government counsel. The PIL in the matter was filed by NGO Social Jurist.

No stay on riverbed construction: HC
The Delhi High Court on Friday declined to stay the construction of an embankment by the Delhi government on the floodplain of the Yamuna,where the world’s largest bus depot has been built. The court,however,said the construction of any permanent structure on the riverbed would be subject to the outcome of a PIL,which sought a stay on the construction of the embankment and the bus depot. The court fixed March 9 for further hearing.

One more held for Tanishq robbery
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in the Capital for his alleged involvement in a Rs 12-crore Tanishq showroom robbery in Chandigarh on January 11. Nadeem,a resident of Muradnagar in UP,was apprehended from Rangpuri area.
