Gurgaon girl falls to death from highrise
A Class XII student of The Shri Ram School in Gurgaon allegedly fell to her death from her seventh floor apartment in a building on Sohna Road on Thursday evening. Inderjeet Yadav,SHO of Sadar police station said,The girl,a resident of Vipul Greens Tower No 15,went to her balcony at 7 pm on Thursday and sat atop the railing to prepare for her exams. While reading,lost her balance and fell to her death. The police have registered a case of accidental death and are probing the matter.
NDPL,NSES move High Court for tariff revision
Power distribution companies NDPL and BSES Rajdhani approached the Delhi High Court on Friday seeking a direction to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission to determine the power tariff for 2010-11 and issue an order soon. The discoms said they were facing a financial crisis.
Road rage: Motorists assault police officer
A police officer was assaulted by the occupants of a Maruti Swift car in Sultanpuri area at 10.45 pm on Thursday. The incident occurred while he was trying to resolve a dispute between the motorists and two men on a motorcycle,who allegedly grazed their car. Police said the matter was resolved without a case being registered.
Property tax relief for Delhiites under unit area method
The MCD has announced an amnesty scheme for property taxpayers for settlement of cases under the unit area method. The scheme will provide for a waiver of interest and penalty,subject to up-to-date payment of property tax. It will be open till February 28.
Rs 50 lakh more for each MCD councillor for development work
The MCD has decided to release an additional amount of Rs 50 lakh to each councillor,so they can carry out development work in their areas. With this,the total amount given to councillors for the purpose has gone up to Rs 1 crore.
Man held for dealing in counterfeit currency notes
A Dwarka resident,Jagmohan (42),was held for possessing fake currency notes with the face value of Rs 1.3 lakh.Ashok Chand,DCP (Crime),said,He had circulated fake notes with a face value of over Rs 20 lakh. ENS
