Airlines body seeks quashing of new policy
New Delhi: The Federation of Indian Airlines,an apex body of private airlines,approached the High Court on Tuesday to seek quashing of the new ground-handling policy,which reportedly prohibited them from undertaking the exercise by themselves. The policy,to be implemented from January,stipulates that ground-handling services would be undertaken by agencies selected by the airport operators. The court fixed December 15 for the hearing.
Darbaris anticipatory bail plea dismissed
New Delhi: A city court,on Tuesday,dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of T S Darbari,a former official of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee,in a corruption case relating to the procurement of video screens from a London-based firm in 2009. I do not find it appropriate to grant the accused anticipatory bail, the court said.
Alternative plots for NPR oustees
Chandigarh: People whose houses come within the acquisition limits of the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR),Gurgaon,have been offered alternative plots in addition to benefits such compensation of the structure and annuity by the State government. However,the offer is only for persons whose houses were built before Section-4 of the Land Acquisition Act was imposed.
