Heroin seized in Greater Noida,2 held
Greater Noida: Two men,including one dismissed Provincial Armed Constabulary personnel,were arrested and heroin worth Rs 50 lakh was reportedly seized from them. The accused,identified as Anoop and Ram Bharat,were arrested from Surajpur area with 500 gram heroin,the police said. Anoop was dismissed from PAC in 2008.

Foreigner detained with drugs at IGI
A Mali national,identified as Abdoulay Vouli Baly,was detained at the IGI Airport’s domestic terminal 1D for allegedly trying to smuggle 5.5 kg of narcotics to Hyderabad. Police said Baly was to board a Spicejet flight when narcotics were detected in his luggage. He was handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau,officials said.

Robbery bit foiled,two arrested
A robbery bid was foiled in Sarita Vihar when seven men playing volleyball caught two alleged robbers — Yogesh and Manish — as they attempted to loot a man at gunpoint. The accused have been arrested and a case registered at the Sarita Vihar police station.

School student makes hoax bomb call
A 15-year-old boy called the police on Saturday claiming there was a bomb in his school — Amrita Public School. The call was declared a hoax after the bomb disposal squad found no explosive in the school premises. The police said the student had made the call to skip the parents-teacher meet.

3 held for cow slaughter
GHAZIABAD: Three persons were arrested on Saturday in Muradnagar’s Chotti Masjid area for cow slaughter. Salim,Munna and Danish were sent on judicial remand after they were found with remains of three cows. A cow and a calf,80 kg meat and 40 cowhides were recovered from them,police said.
