Businessman shot dead
Unidentified assailants shot dead a 45-year-old businessman in Mangolpuri area on Friday night. Police said Gyanendra Kumar,a marble trader in Kala Pathar area,was standing outside his shop when four men arrived in a car and opened fire. Passersby rushed Kumar to hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival,police added. “It seems to be a case of personal rivalry. We have registered a case of murder,” a police official said.

Man accidentally fires at self
A property dealer accidentally fired his country-made revolver and injured his thigh on Friday night but called the police saying he had been shot at by motorcycle-borne assailants. “Naveen Gupta tried to mislead us and said he was shot at by unidentified assailants. His friend,Manuvar,who was with him at the time of the incident,however,revealed Gupta had fired accidentally and injured himself,” a police officer said. A case under the Arms Act has been registered against Gupta as he did not have the weapon’s licence.

Man killed in Khyala
Unidentified assailants killed a man after he asked them to not answer nature’s call in front of his house in Khyala area of Outer Delhi on Friday night. Police said the men hit the victim,identified as one Gurvinder,with a wooden plank,and injured his brother who tried to intervene. A case has been registered.
