Passengers on a Delhi-bound train were looted by 10 armed robbers on Sunday night. The incident occurred in the Kalka-Delhi Himalayan Queen Express,train no 4096,while it was crossing Haryana. Around 9.45 pm on Sunday,10 robbers broke into the train at Sonepat station. They first checked the bogies and then brandished weapons to scare passengers.
Around 11 passengers were stripped off their mobile phones,ornaments and cash. The robbers looted the general bogey and did not venture into any of the other classes.
After the loot,one of the robbers pulled the emergency chain. The train was near Holambi Kalan area and about to reach the Capital. As the robbers were getting down,the RPF and GRPF men patrolling the area,chased them and managed to catch one. They quickly caught one of the men identified as Ashok.
On interrogation,Ashok gave out the name of another accomplice called Sandeep. Police caught him and recovered nine mobile phones and a gold chain.
