A city court on Friday will decide whether Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi can finally be let off the hook in the Bofors payoff case. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja is expected to make a decision on the CBI’s plea to withdraw prosecution against Quattrocchi after hearing out two lawyers who have come up against the agency’s move.

ORIENTATION FOR URDU TEACHERS
The Academy of Professional Development of Urdu-Medium Teachers,Jamia Millia Islamia,has organised a ten-day orientation programme for Urdu teachers,scheduled for 10.30 am on Monday at Jamia’s Conference Hall,along with the release of its quarterly journal Tadrees Nama.

CONFERENCE ON ACADEMIC LIBRARIES
Delhi University will organises the International Conference on Academic Libraries from Monday to Thursday. The conference will be inaugurated by Sam Pitroda,Chairman,National Knowledge Commission,at the university’s Convention Hall at 5.30 pm on Monday.

GITANJALI AT 100
To commemorate the centenary year of Tagore’s Gitanjali,the India Habitat Centre is organising an evening of Rabindrasangeet on Friday,with a performance by Jayati Ghosh 7 pm onwards. Entry is free.

Sufi nights
The Delhi International Arts Festival will organise solo evenings of music by Manpreet Akhtar,Hans Raj Hans and Zila Khan at The Ashok in Chanakyapuri,beginning Friday. The evenings,scheduled from October 9 to 11,will start at 7 pm.
