A city court on Friday will decide whether Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi can finally be let off the hook in the Bofors payoff case. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja is expected to make a decision on the CBIs plea to withdraw prosecution against Quattrocchi after hearing out two lawyers who have come up against the agencys move.

ORIENTATION FOR URDU TEACHERS
The Academy of Professional Development of Urdu-Medium Teachers,Jamia Millia Islamia,has organised a ten-day orientation programme for Urdu teachers,scheduled for 10.30 am on Monday at Jamias Conference Hall,along with the release of its quarterly journal Tadrees Nama.

To commemorate the centenary year of Tagores Gitanjali,the India Habitat Centre is organising an evening of Rabindrasangeet on Friday,with a performance by Jayati Ghosh 7 pm onwards. Entry is free.

Sufi nights
The Delhi International Arts Festival will organise solo evenings of music by Manpreet Akhtar,Hans Raj Hans and Zila Khan at The Ashok in Chanakyapuri,beginning Friday. The evenings,scheduled from October 9 to 11,will start at 7 pm.
