38-year-old held for raping infant

A 38-year-old man was arrested on Friday for raping an eight-month-old. Mehant Kumar,a native of Bihar,works as a construction labourer at JMD Towers in Sector 47. Police said Kumar found the infant alone around 1.30 pm and tried to assault her. He was in an inebriated condition at the time,the police said. “Hearing the child cry,her mother rushed to the spot to find Kumar besides the infant. She raised an alarm and Kumar was nabbed,” investigating officer Inderjeet Singh said. Police have registered a case.
