A Tamil Nadu politician who is the president of a gram panchayat in Hosur is among a gang of burglars arrested by the Upparpet police in the course of investigations of a Rs 48-lakh burglary at the Hebbagodi home of a businessman that occurred on September 23. The police managed to recover only Rs 35,000 of the Rs 48 lakh.
The Upparpet police said they arrested a burglar known as Cat Raja and his gang. Investigation revealed that Abbaiah,the president of the Sannamavu Gram Panchayat in Hosur taluk of Tamil Nadu,was a part of the gang that stole Rs 48 lakh from the house of the businessman. The probe revealed the gang was planning a heist at the house of a politician in Tamil Nadu after splurging the money from the September 23 burglary. The accused have been identified as Abbaiah,his brother-in-law Nagaraj and Mani,all three are from Tamil Nadu. The Karnataka members are Cat Raja,Harish,Vishnu,Narayana,Chethan alias Handi Chethu,Dhananjaya alias Kencha,Suryaprasad and Raju.
The arrest of Cat Raja,Harish,Vishnu and Narayana by the police lead to information on Abbaiah,a resident of Tamandrapalli,and his Tamil Nadu accomplices police said.
