Mayor leads students,staff in KR Market clean-up

More than 500 students joined hands with the Bruhath Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Monday morning to clean City Market.

Twenty-five teams comprising 20 students each from Acharya Pathasala College cleaned the market area with poura karmikas and other BBMP staff.

BBMP officials said 20 lorries,60 auto tippers and 150 poura karmikas participated in the three-hour clean-up drive between 9 am and noon.

Every Monday,I will be here personally and clean the market with the help of students from various education institutes. I want to create an environment,so that citizens will love to visit KR Market for purchases, said Mayor BS Sathyanarayana,who inaugurated the programme by sweeping garbage.
