First year B Tech student’s death at LPU sparks protest, warden manhandled

The student was identified as Mayank who hails from Haryana.

The police took custody of the body for post-mortem. According to information, the university arranged for an ambulance and rushed Mayank to the hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.

The hospital then informed the police station in Satnamapur. SHO Gaurav Dheer said, “Police are investigating the case from various angles, including suicide. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family.”

A statement from the LPU management reads, “We deeply regret to inform you that a tragic incident occurred last night involving one of our students who took his own life. The entire university community is profoundly saddened by this heartbreaking loss. The university immediately notified the parents, who arrived this morning to accompany their beloved child’s body back to their hometown. We understand that this is an unimaginably difficult time for the parent and the family and our thoughts and prayers are with them.”
