Every time city-based music composer-producer (amongst many other things) Hari Singh calls up,it’s bound to be for something new,and it’s usually zany, zestful, and quite refreshing. So when he rang up this morning,we were not surprised to hear that the musician’s formed a new outfit, and this one,he says,is the umbrella body, something that was long overdue. “It’s called Hari Chutney, and I’ve roped in a team that’ll handle everything – from management, website content,PR to graphics and artwork,” Hari introduces us to the lot: PR student Sriparnika Batra, techie Abhinav Sharma and Frameboxx students – Abhinav Sharda and Anish. While Sharda will handle the visuals and special effects,Anish is the creative brain behind artwork including logos, flyers, stills et al. As for BCA student Sharma, the website, which is under construction, will have some cool content, details of the upcoming events, bookings, music streaming, artist management, gigs et al. “And I’ll be organising all of it,” smiles Sri,who handles the public relations department. Now that he’s finally formed a team,Hari’s looking forward to spice up the music scene in Chandigarh. “Starting with S-Lounge of course, which is our hub. We’ve been trying to bring in a new flavour each week – first with Sukhmani, then Teen Taal who also play at Orchid Lounge, music nights at Purple Rice, independent artists indulging in live hip hop, tribal music, funky house, and now we’ll focus on multi-genres of music which will lend a club feel,” Hari will be coming with new styles every Wednesday alternating it with contemporary and traditional. “This Wednesday we’ll have Qawwals from Jaisalmer and corresponding visuals and words flashing on the projector. It will be live and interactive, something both the young and old can enjoy.” So book your date on Hari Chutney’s Wham Bam Wednesdays, but before that, check out Hari Chutney’s profile on Facebook.
