Today,the company along with Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi,showcased its latest offering in the music space – the Nokia Music Store – in Chandigarh. For this,Nokia has tied up with leading international music labels and Indian record labels,and partnered with Indian Music Industry (IMI).

“We are delighted to bring the music store to Punjab,a state that is known to have one of the most diverse cultures in music and dance. Our store has a rich catalogue of Punjabi music artists ranging from Jasbir Jassi,Harbajan Maan,Gurdas Mann,Babbu Maan and Malkit Singh amongst others,” Chandan Dang,Regional General Manager (North),Nokia India gets on with their music mantra. According to him,music is an all-consuming passion with most people,especially in a country like India where it is an intrinsic part of the culture. As for Jasbir Jassi,who is into Sufi music and two new albums on sufi and wedding numbers,he is ‘delighted to be part of this path-breaking milestone’. “I truly believe that music is a religion of togetherness,and Nokia Music Store,with its extensive repertoire of songs has brought together artists across various genres and time and given us an opportunity to reach out to a larger audience across the country.”

Consumers can experience the Nokia Music store (http://music.nokia.co.in) via inbox vouchers included in all XpressMusic handsets and select Nseries and Eseries devices such as N97,N86,E71,E63 amongst others. Once in the store,you can listen to a 30 second clip of any track on the store before downloading it. You can browse for new music,get recommendations or search for favorite artists,songs or albums. You can also transfer songs via a PC to compatible Nokia devices. So,what are you waiting for? Get set play!
