Soch: Students display out-of-box ideas,ingenuity

The teams picked up important social issues like eve teasing,world of the blind children,art of pottery and honour killings. Participating teams included,amongst others,Postgraduate Government College for Girls,Sector 11,Postgraduate Government College,Sector 46 and Chitkara University.

Teams from Punjabi University,Patiala,DAV College-10,Lovely Professional University,Jalandhar and Chitkara University cleared the prelims for the quiz-Tele Quiz-out of which Lovely Professional University emerged victorious. The audience also got a chance to win exciting discount coupons from the sponsors by answering the questions that the teams could not.

Extempore competition judged their ability to be spontaneous and knowledgeable. To inculcate naturalness in the fabric of Soch,colours were incorporated through the event,Facebook and T-Shirt painting.

Sufi Night enthrals audience

Performing at the Star Night of Soch 2010,Zorawat Wadali,the famous Sufi singer led the audience to a different state of mind altogether with his soul stirring music. The ghazals made an emotional connect with the audience. “My base is Sufi music and that is the emphasis when I perform live. But I am trying to bring in some fusion elements to connect to a larger audience,” said the star of the night,Zorawat Wadali.
